TheBielskiBunch Awarded Special Olympics Outstanding Business Award for 2008

TheBielskiBunch was awarded Special Olympics Outstanding Business Award for 2008. Thank you Jennifer and the Special Olympics for the opportunity to be involved!

For over 10 years, Michael Bielski and his company, TheBielskiBunch, have designed our shirts for every event and competition that Area 16 takes part in…free of charge!! Michael and his father, Mike (our very own Coach Bielski) work as a team generating ideas and working through many revisions to finally create the masterpiece that our delegation proudly wears as we attend events, representing Area 16.

Our shirts have become very well known and recognized by everyone throughout Special Olympics Michigan, especially our State Summer and State Winter Games shirts. Our shirts give our athletes a sense of pride and belonging…We are Area 16 (2007 State Winter Games “Spirit Award” Winners)!!

We usually are not able to give Michael much advance notice of the particular theme we would like to use, and many times, events pop up last minute and we request a shirt design with only a very short lead time, often right after he just finished a big design for us. This never seems to matter.

TheBielskiBunch has always come through for us, and each shirt design always seems to outdo the last one!! Our athletes and volunteers are always anxious to see the final product as the shirts are unveiled before our events. We are actually often approached by other areas and state staff as we arrive to an event with curiosity of our shirts. Many people at events even ask to purchase a shirt. We often hear people expressing their favorite design…the snowman shirt, the pirate one, the pink one, etc.

TheBielskiBunch has donated countless hours of time and so much talent to Area 16 over the years. In addition to the shirts, TheBielskiBunch has also helped us with other computer design projects. Michael Bielski actually lives in the Chicago area. Thanks to today’s technology, ideas are shared and designs created electronically. Through the use of e-mail, working with Michael makes it feel like he is in the next room. TheBielskiBunch works behind the scenes. We see the result of his hard work, but we don’t usually get the opportunity to see Michael and thank him personally. He is like a “phantom” volunteer for Area 16. The truth is TheBielskiBunch is as much a part of our local program as our coaches and local volunteers!!
